1st Annual Applied Statistics Center Art Contest
DEADLINE EXTENDED TO APRIL 15TH!
What is it?
- We know there are a lot of aspiring artists out there! We're looking for art
work that has something to do with statistics. That can mean many things: it
can be birds flying through the sky in a mathematical pattern, or it can be your
interpretation of a statistical or mathematical concept as a visual image. It
can be an obvious relation to statistics, or it can reflect your own visualization
of something statistical. Be creative!
How do I enter my art work?
- We will not accept original work, only photographs of original work. Pieces
must be submitted by emailing them
as JPEG, PDF, or GIF files. You may use any medium for the original piece and
then photograph it to submit.
ALL SUBMISSIONS ARE DUE BY
MARCH 31ST APRIL 15TH, 2008, AT 5PM!
What can I win?
- First Prize: $200 AND your art work will be featured on the front cover of
the Applied Statistics Center brochure
- Second Prize: $100 AND your art work will be featured on the back cover of
the Applied Statistics Center brochure
- Publicity: Photographs of First Prize, Second Prize, and three Honorable Mention winners'
work will be displayed for two weeks in the Playroom*
We look forward to seeing your ideas!
